John Blosnich

John Blosnich is currently a doctoral student in Public Health Sciences at West Virginia University (WVU). He earned his Master of Public Health degree in 2007, focusing on school bullying and peer victimization, with particular attention to sexual minority youth. His current research focus is examining the intersection of violence, harassment, and real/perceived discrimination with health risk behaviors that disproportionately affect sexual minorities, namely cigarette smoking. John works with in the Department of Community Medicine at WVU with the Translational Tobacco Reduction Research program, a joint program of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and the West Virginia Prevention Research Center. Upon completion of his degree, John plans to continue to work in the areas of health and wellness in sexual minority communities.
