Alex Maher McDowell

Alex Maher McDowell, MPH, MSN, RN is a student in the Ph.D. Program in Health Policy at Harvard University and a registered nurse at McLean Hospital. Her work focuses on the impact of health care policy and delivery system changes on health outcomes for transgender and gender non-conforming communities. Alex established and evaluated the Transgender Curriculum Integration Project at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She has also worked on a series of projects to measure the impact of payment reform on health care quality in the Department of Health Care Policy at Harvard Medical School. Alex earned an MPH, MS in Nursing, and BS in Nursing from Johns Hopkins, as well as a BA in Women’s and Gender Studies from Georgetown University.
